Nature Learning June-July 2019

Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th July 2019 - The children at nature land were busy making their very own lemonade. The children were able to squeeze the lemons, add the sugar and mix in the water. We talked about the texture and what the lemons smell like. Some on the children enjoyed having a little taste! We had a fantastic time.

Friday 12th July - Fun in the sunshine for the babies. They had a great time with Becky and Amy!

Monday 8th July and Tuesday 9th July - The children made wonderful bird feeders to take home. We talked about different birds and tried spotting some within our outdoor area. They followed instructions well and enjoyed mixing everything together.

Friday 5th July 2019 - Baby Room

The children had fun in the sun at nature land. They helped pull the trolley up onto the field today. The children had taken balloons up onto the field today, they enjoyed watching them float and sink in the water. The children are forming special friendships through our nature land experiences. Tuesday 2nd July 2019.

At nature land today, the children have enjoyed building with the foam blocks to create dens. They have enjoyed balancing and climbing on our ramps. The children sat lovely for our story book 'The Gruffalo' They took turns well on the tyre swing. Well done Toddlers! Monday 1st July 2019.

The babies enjoyed eating snack at the nature land. They explored the equipment and enjoyed crawling through the tunnel. Friday 28th June 2019.

The toddlers have been getting wet and muddy at our nature land! The weather was raining today but that didn't stop the children and staff from having a fantastic time. They enjoyed using the nets in the water, to see what they could find. The toddlers took turns in using the tyre swing within the outdoors. They enjoyed watching the rain fill up the buckets within the land. Tuesday 25th June 2019

At nature land today, the sun was beaming and the children loved exploring. The children made crowns to take home and made marks with felt tips. We sang a range of animal songs; down in the jungle, 1,2,3,4,5 and incey wincey spider.They children loved floating boats and ducks on the water. They all had a fantastic time!

Today the weather has been windy at our nature area. All the toddlers enjoyed looking for insects within the grass and water. We drew lovely pictures of the different insects; flies, ants, frogs and butterflies. The children have been splashing in the water and balancing alongside their friends. We read the book ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’ at story time. The children were able to repeat phrases from the book; ‘we can’t go over it’, we can’t go under it’ and ‘we’ve got to go through it’’. The children used lovely manners at snack time and we then collected branches and sticks to measure them in the water to see how deep the water was. Monday 17th June 2019.

The babies have been to visit the our new 'Nature Learning' area. The weather stayed dry and they loved exploring the muddy puddles and the equipment. The staff are excited to take them again next week. Friday 14th June 2019

The toddlers have been busy at forest schools in the rain today. The rain didn't stop them from having lots of fun though, they have enjoyed; splashing in muddy puddles, collecting natural objects, looking at frogs, holding snails, reading a story book called 'Leaves' and exploring the mud kitchen, to create mud pies. The had lots of fun and got very dirty! Monday 10th June 2019

A small group from the toddler room went to visit our 'Forest Schools' during nursery today. We had a lovely time exploring all the new equipment and resources. We made a den and sang a range of songs, we enjoyed our yummy snack within the fresh air and enjoyed having our story time outside. We made stick people to take back to nursery to show our friends. The children are very excited to tell you all about their visit to our special field. We are very proud of how well behaved all the children were. We are excited for next week! Monday 3rd June 2019
