Pinxton Nursery School's Pumpkin Soup

Delicious and easy to do!

Perfect for cold, autumn / winter days...




How exciting!

We all took part in outdoor cooking today.

We learnt all about pumpkins and discussed a variety of ways in which they can be used...

All children knew that we can use pumpkins for carving at Halloween!

We worked very carefully as we used knives to chop up our pumpkins ready for making soup!

We learnt about safety around fires and stoves as we used our outdoor camping hob.

It was a great day!

It smelt delicious!


If this is something that you would like to try...

You will need:

* A safe place to cook.

* A large pan.

*Knife and spoons.

*Ingredients : 1 large pumpkin deseeded and chopped

1 large onion chopped

2 carrots also chopped

1 large potato peeled and chopped

1 litre of vegetable stock

25 g butter


for extra flavour try adding salt, chinese five spice , garlic cloves and double cream.
