30 Hours Funding
How do I check if my child is eligible?
Some children will be eligible for 30 hours funding, if their parents (or parent if the child is from a single parent family) work more than 16 hours per week and earn more than the minimum wage. To check if your child is entitled, please click here - scroll down the page until you see the heading "30 Hours Free Childcare" and click on the "Apply Now" button.
My child is eligible, what do I do now?
- you should have received an 11 digit code from the HMRC
- bring your code to Deena in the School Office, along with your National Insurance Number, proof of your date of birth, and proof of your child's date of birth. This is to prove who you are, to make sure this matches to the eligibility code and also to prove that the child is your child.
- we need your consent to check the validity of your code before allocating your child a place.
- we will then work with you to allocate your child a space which meets your needs.
PLEASE NOTE, YOUR CHILD'S EXTENDED ENTITLEMENT WILL BEGIN THE TERM AFTER THE START DATE OF THE CODE. SEE THE TABLE BELOW FOR A LIST OF IMPORTANT DATES
Date of Child's 3rd Birthday | Eligibility Code Must Be Applied By AND Dated | Month Child Can Start Nursery |
1st January to 31st March | NO LATER THAN 31st MARCH | April |
1st April to 31st August | NO LATER THAN 31st AUGUST | September |
1st September to 31st December | NO LATER THAN 31st DECEMBER | January |
At Pinxton Nursery School we also offer stretched funding over 50 weeks which works out at 22 hours per week funded. Parents can add additional sessions on top of their funded hours. Some of these sessions are provided in the CIC Nursery outside of school sessions and school term time.
Is there any other help available with childcare costs?
Tax Free Childcare is an online payment account, topped up by the Government, which parents use solely to pay their childcare costs. For every £8 that a family pays in, the Government will make a top-up payment of £2, up to a maximum of £2,000 per child per year. This is available for children under 12 years old.
